Scottish International Storytelling Festival
About This Event
The Living Voice of Scotland and Beyond
Gather where the ancient art of oral storytelling thrives in the shadows of the Royal Mile. The Scottish International Storytelling Festival (SISF) brings master storytellers from across the Scottish Highlands, the Hebrides, and continents around the world to Edinburgh, celebrating human narrative, memory, and community.
Fireside Tales & Celtic Lore
Set around the evocative peat-fire ambiance of the Scottish Storytelling Centre and candlelit closes of the Netherbow, this year's theme explores folklore, kinship, and natural stewardship. From gripping Scottish border ballads and heroic Gaelic legends to contemporary bilingual storytelling, the festival offers family day sessions, immersive dusk walks, and intimate evening ceilidh recitals.
