The Story of Sheila Fleet Jewellery
Located at 18 St Stephen Street in Stockbridge, Sheila Fleet Jewellery is the Edinburgh gallery of one of Scotland’s most distinguished master enamellers. Awarded an OBE for services to the British jewellery industry, Sheila Fleet has drawn inspiration from the wild coastal geology, Norse heritage, and ancient standing stones of her native Orkney Islands since founding her workshop in 1993.
The Stockbridge showroom is a light-filled space where warm display cases present dazzling arrays of silver, yellow gold, white gold, and platinum jewellery. What distinguishes Sheila Fleet’s work is her mastery of vitreous hot glass enamelling. In her Orkney workshop, skilled artisans hand-paint crushed glass onto precious metal before kiln-firing it at over 800°C, producing luminous hues reminiscent of crashing Atlantic waves and Arctic sunsets.
Visitors can explore famous collections such as Skyran, Tidal Waves, and the Scottish Primrose, as well as bespoke wedding and engagement rings featuring Scottish gold and conflict-free diamonds. The Edinburgh team offers attentive sizing and custom design consultations, bringing the spirit of Orkney directly to the capital.
